Children, too, concerned about affordable housing (TodayOnline)
In the first Our Singapore Conversation with them, kids list housing as an issue they hope would improve

SINGAPORE – Children as young as 11 years old have cited “affordable housing” and “ungraciousness” as concerns they hope would improve. These were mentioned yesterday at the first dialogue under the ongoing Our Singapore Conversation that involved children.
Mr Ang Wei Neng, a Member of Parliament for Jurong Group Representation Constituency, who hosted the session involving some 600 primary and secondary level students, as well as their parents, said the children’s views could have been influenced by their parents, but noted the need to solicit the younger generation’s views nonetheless.
“This is a concern they have because they see their parents paying more for their housing. So we must do more to assure our younger generation that we have enough land to build quality HDB (Housing and Development Board) housing that is available for all,” said Mr Ang.
The reason for involving children, he added, was so that they could “think about such issues”.
